Personal highlights for Niykee include being hand-picked to join Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs in spite of the chaos over the last few years. The young producer is now drawn to her, and always tries out latest beats. A lot of them inspire song ideas. She says that she can discern if a beat is great in only 5 minutes. And then, a brand new song may pop up in her mind. My lyrics come to me whenever I'm outside on the porch, playing my guitar. It usually takes under thirty minutes. Niykee says that when she matures as a singer-songwriter, the painful memories of her youth serve as source of inspiration. It's difficult to escape the painful memories of my youth, especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting incorporated in her music. The grief of losing my sister as well as my childhood influence the music I write. It's important to me to have a deep purpose to what I do.
