Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American musician and singer. Over 20 albums were released by her. DiFranco categorizes her music as folk-rock and alternative. However, it contains influences such as punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as the feminist's icon and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first pioneer of DIY music. She was one of the very first musicians to start the label she created in the year 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were students at the same school. Her father was of Italian origin and her mother was originally from Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and sang the hit song "32 Flavors". This song appeared on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in 1995. The track was included in the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologised in 2013 when it was reported that she would be hosting an event for three days at a Louisiana plantation for slaves. Even though she canceled the event however, a lot of participants (including the authors of our article) did not see any remorse. DiFranco offered an apology just a few weeks later. While she has been known by the name of Little Folksinger her songs have embraced a variety of kinds of genres and collaborates from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. New Orleans is where she lives. DiFranco graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school when she was 16 and started attending courses at Buffalo State College.
